My girlfriend Jeff (glassass)’s grandfather is very ill and we (or at least her) would like to be able to go and see him sometime in August before his condition becomes worse. Unfortunately the cheapest round-trip airfare is around 300 dollars per ticket. We’ve been looking at all of our options…
my gf made a post about our current dilemma regarding my grandpa
and what’s goin on is that he has terminal cancer but has personally chosen to forgo chemo since it weakened him so much, he couldn’t enjoy what he has left of his life.
This both terrified and saddened me thinking that August could be his last month with us (as told by his doctor) and I would like to go see him before he passes away and to introduce him to the love of my life.
I work part-time with a minimum wage retail job and I only have enough to pay for rent, food, and bills …although I do feel guilty doing so…I’m accepting donations on behalf of my gf and I at my paypal address: jeffluna08(at)gmail(dot)com to afford plane tickets (cheapest I’ve found is $300 per person to Texas departing from Denver)
I’m also accepting commissions and you can find that info here:[Link]

And my storenvy will also be open to raise money with the 20% off still active: [Link]

Devil’s Pass is a found-footage style mockumentary about the Dyatlov Pass incident (which was the original movie title). This incident, put briefly, is about the discovery of 9 Russian hikers who fled their camp in the night for no known reason and froze to death in the snow. Many of the bodies showed no visible trauma although several had internal wounds such as broken ribs and crushed skulls. This actual incident still has no explanation.
I didn’t know much about the Dyatlov incident but Devil’s Pass quickly updated me on the situation in the mockumentary-style beginning. 5 college students go Dyatlov’s Pass to discover what happened and things go awry at a steadily increasing pace.I should mention that some of them are film students, and so, thank god, a good portion of the film is actually shot very steadily and clear, so the whole shaky cam doesn’t really happen until intense scenes. The characters are likable, flawed, and believable college kids. The acting was pretty solid, especially for a found footage horror movie. I found myself attached by the time shit started to fly.
This movie exceeded my expectations, with references to one of my favorite books used in a different and interesting way. While some moments became ham-handed, they were not unbelievable for the characters or their situation, and the tension that the film carefully built exploded in a genuinely frightening climax. The monsters were creepy and uncomfortable to look at, and how they moved and worked caused equal curiosity and unease. This movie isn’t about blood and guts (although neither are completely absent) but rather about the unknown and unexplained, and I felt it did a great job telling an interesting story and scaring the shit out of me.
8/ 10 very enjoyable as a horror fan
Recommend?: This is obviously subjective, but I enjoyed this film. It was scary and entertaining and more than I expected. If you enjoy a good story and conspiracy theories then I think you’ll enjoy this. As for gorehounds, not so much.
If you don’t love Jackson Galaxy then you are sorely mistaken.
But bacon on a cat… Man, I get that all the time.
Buttering your cat is just one step away from a perpetual motion engine, and that would break the laws of physics and probably implode the universe. People know subconsciously not to do it.
